COLT opens contact center in India

The European telecom major plans to open back office and technical support center in Gurgoan by September 2004.

BANGALORE: COLT Telecom Group, a provider of business communication services plans to set up its wholly owned subsidiary COLT Technology Services India Pvt. Ltd. The center will be viewed as part of the COLT family of operating units and will cater to high quality technical support functions for its Europe based services.

The Nasdaq and London Stock Exchange listed COLT is presently in the process of setting up its dedicated facility in Gurgaon, India to provide back office and technical support services to its customers in Europe. The company’s strategy is to provide multiple support functions to its core business in Europe from India and it aims to begin operations by September, 2004.

COLT provides services to more than 18,000 customers in the world, including SWIFT, Bloomberg.com, MTV Networks Europe and Amnesty International. The company aims to offer a real prospect of growth and enhancement to individuals with international quality training programs relevant to their skills and aspirations. It also plans to provide training to key management staff at one of COLT’s premises in Europe. Their target prospects in India include engineering graduates, software developers and skilled telecom professionals who are capable in all aspects of high quality telecom services.
