World of Wonders coming up

International Recreational Parks Private Limited has announced that it has finalised the design for an amusement park and is starting the construction. World of Wonders, being built in NOIDA, is touted as South Asia’s largest amusement park. The first phase of construction is likely to be completed by mid 2005.

World of Wonders will have three theme parks for children, teenagers and families; water parks and a food court. An Arrival Village will have India’s largest shopping mall. A five-star hotel and a six-screen multiplex will also be part of it. The company has imported 39 rides from Canada, Europe and United States. Forrec Limited, a Canada-based firm dealing in the design of theme parks and other facilities, has developed the design to give the park a gleaming, ‘Big City’ look.

The projected outlay of the project is Rs. 1,000 crore. The promoters plan to hold road shows and publicity campaigns to attract visitors from all across the country.
